I am Mats Uecker, one of the founders and creators of MODULARE.
I couldn't get this quote out of my head when I was first thinking about MODULARE, and I can derive a lot from it for myself and our products in terms of design.
In my opinion, design should be a symbiosis of simple functionality and aesthetic self-image, which ideally also places and fulfills the demand for timelessness!
That's why design-oriented people love our minimalist, modular products.
But let's start from the beginning - how 2021 all began:
I'm sitting in my office during Coronalockdown, looking for a minimalist wall shelf that is flexible, timeless and meets my expectations.
I've been well-versed in design furniture for over 15 years, but none of the thoroughly timeless and sophisticated shelving systems ultimately offer me the modularity I desire.
So I think - I'll just have to develop one myself and get started. Together with a designer and a friend, we develop our first product - the "Modular No1 Shelving System".
At our production partner, who produces sustainably and exclusively in Germany, the first product samples are finally created. MODULARE is born and we immediately have more ideas that we want to and will implement.
What does Modulare Interieur stand for today?
We create timeless, flexible and individual design.
Furniture and living accessories that adapt to your needs in a modular way, integrate unobtrusively into almost any interior, whether at home or in the office, and are produced in Germany.
Our design has already been awarded several times with the German Design Award Special and the Plus X Award.
Why Modulare is not a start up:
Mats and Stefan founded Modulare 2021 to create a company that creates sustainable furniture for eternity through great ideas and their transformation into design and outstanding product quality.
The distribution is done through selected retailers who share this idea, as well as through our own online store.
In comparison to start ups, which usually want to scale quickly, we, on the other hand, also focus on a sustainable, long-term path with our friends and partners at this point.
What's next and what is our goal?
We will continue to work with international designers and develop iconic, functional design furniture and accessories for you in the coming years.
